Paystack provides payment infrastructure that helps businesses accept and manage payments. Its products serve more than 300,000 businesses across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya.
The Financial Systems team focuses on what happens after a customer makes a payment. Businesses need to receive their money, process refunds, resolve disputes and understand where their funds are throughout the payment process.
As Product Manager, you will help improve the systems that make these financial activities possible. Your responsibilities may include merchant settlements, payouts, refunds, disputes, treasury operations and ledger products.
You will work closely with Engineering, Data, Design, Finance, Treasury, Support, Compliance and other product teams. You will also engage directly with merchants and internal users to understand problems, make informed product decisions and ensure that released solutions work reliably.

- Map financial and money movement processes from beginning to end.

- Work closely with engineers, designers and data teams to develop reliable and practical solutions.
- Define product success metrics and monitor performance after new features are launched.
- Use customer feedback and performance data to continuously improve products.
- Consider exceptional situations such as bank outages, failed transfers, transaction timeouts and unreconciled financial records.
- Write clear product proposals, technical specifications, merchant guidance and internal documentation.
- Manage escalations and coordinate stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Support, Compliance and other departments.
- Own product initiatives within Paystack's six-week product development cycle.
- Present product prioritisation proposals to the Product Council.
Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
- At least 3 years of product management experience within a product team.
- Experience taking products through discovery, specification, development, launch and continuous improvement.
- Experience building or operating payment products, financial infrastructure or money movement systems within a fintech company, bank or financial services organisation.
- Strong understanding of how financial transactions work in practice.
- Ability to understand the consequences of failed, delayed or incomplete financial transactions for businesses and merchants.

- Experience using data alongside customer feedback and operational information to make product decisions.
- Ability to work closely with engineers on technical products.
- Technical understanding of integrations, APIs, ledgers and financial reconciliation.
- Confidence communicating with merchants and internal users.
