About the programme
The AMIR Fund Medical Scholarship Program was established to help talented Nigerian medical and dental students continue their education when financial difficulties threaten their ability to complete their degrees.
Medical and dental programmes require several years of intensive study, and tuition costs can place significant pressure on families. The programme aims to reduce this burden by supporting academically strong students from low-income households and underserved communities.
For the 2026/2027 application cycle, the fund plans to award up to 20 scholarships to eligible students studying Medicine and Surgery or Dental Surgery.
Rather than providing a general cash allowance, the fund pays the approved tuition and mandatory school fees directly to the student's university. Successful scholars also receive mentorship and are expected to participate in community health outreach.
Who can apply?
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a Nigerian citizen.

The scholarship is designed to support high-achieving students whose financial circumstances could make it difficult to complete their medical or dental education.
